Mothers Day 07

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

We borrowed big cousin Charlie’s paint set so that Milly could create her very first Mothers’ Day card.

The first effort involved painting her hand, but she clenched a fist and purple paint went up her nails and she wouldn’t unclench it to make a nice handprint.  The test-hand-run resulted in a purple blob on the notebook which could have been anything.

Her socks were whipped off and Daddy took a paint brush to her foot whilst Mummy tried to get paint off Milly’s hand.  The test-foot-run was much more successful and the actual print onto the card was the best result all day.  If you can’t make out the writing it says:

Amelia Poppy Steele

Aged 7 weeks 3 days.

Length : 20ins  Weight : 9lbs 3oz

Emma and I took the first faltering steps towards becoming bad parents.  We went for a night out in Manchester to celebrate Emma’s birthday and left Amelia overnight with Nana Dawn.  This beats our previous record of leaving her home alone with Grandma Steele for 4 hours when we went to the cinema a couple of weeks ago.
