Amelia Poppy and Oliver James Steele

Amelia is slowly getting the hang of walking with her little fire engine thing, but Mummy or Daddy still have to hold on so she doesn’t fall flat on her face. She also seems to be showing quite an interest in the drinks cupboard and is constantly rolling over to it [ she doesn't seem to want to crawl ] and tugging on the door handle.

This morning we had a close call as our little cherub "walked" over to Bingo and started to "stroke" him. Bingo responded by taking a swipe at Amelia with his claws. Thankfully he missed and Bingo was promptly chased out of the house and is now outside, in the cold … and rain.

Despite being dressed in a devil costume, Amelia was very well behaved. It was cousin Charlie’s decision (who was a werewolf for the evening) to dress Milly in the devil costume as he deemed her pumpkin outfit "too girly".

It took Milly some time to get used to seeing mummy with dark hair and a paler face than usual and mummy had to take the wig off in order to settle her down for the night.

Mummy bought some of Amelia’s favourite balloons (Rocket) for the party which proved a great hit….particularly with Charlie, Jack and Stephanie (oh, and even 16 year old cousin Valerie!)

Hopefully the Halloween party will become a tradition and will get bigger and better each year. All adults must wear full costume next year.

A spooky time was had by all at the very first Halloween for Amelia. She had great fun sitting in the coffin with the skeleton, but as you can see was a bit perturbed by him!
