The first of Amelia’s xmas gifts

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

We’ll spend the next few blogs detailing all the stuff that Amelia received on her first ever xmas.

The first, which was really a stocking filler from Grandma Steele is a series of letters that Mummy managed to arrange in the correct order on Amelia’s bedroom door. Awwwww

Amelia’s First Xmas

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

This is kinda the xmas card Em and I sent out to family and a few friends. I say "kinda" because the people we had do the printing attached a lovely "Seasons Greetings" frame around it.

Unfortunately it’s now Christmas Day night and I’m a bit trashed and it’s just too much hard work to grab the whole thing from the website. So you’re all going to have to do with the shrunken original.

Merry Christmas and all that cock!

 temp

As is normal at this time of the year people tend to look back on the past twelve months and think about things that have happened.

Obviously the major thing that has happened in the lives of Em and I would be our little bundle of joy, Amelia Poppy.

As she is now holding her own drinking cup, showing an interest in books, chasing Bingo and starting to walk; it’s hard to believe that just a few months ago she was a tiny, utterly dependent baby.

Fortunately, at various times throughout the year Amelia has been "snapped" in the comfy chair in her room. It’s amazing to see her develop in the three pictures above from a drooling dependent baby, to a boisterous determined toddler.

We’re really looking forward to the next year of development. Merry xmas to everyone.

Grandma Sue

After a relaxing morning, daddy decided that he needed to "do stuff" and ventured into the garden with uncle Jaz.

Amelia wanted to go on her new swing so was put onto her trike and trundled down the garden to see daddy starting a huge fire. Her eyes lit up!

Daddy still wasn’t happy relaxing at home with Miracle on 34th Street so we went to see Nana Sue and Grandad Dave. The best bit about going to grand-parents’ houses is that mummy and daddy can sit back and watch them walk Amelia around the house: by the time she walks we will all be needing physio.

We survived!

For the second time in a week Daddy was left holding the baby whilst Mummy went off boozing with her mates. Monday she was out with Kirsten at Take That and last night was her school xmas party…even though she hasn’t taught there all year!

So Daddy and Amelia played and watched TV and practiced walking before she went to bed at 7.15pm and got up again at 9am!!! She did have a few times when she woke in the night and she ended up in bed with Daddy at 6.15am but 14 hours sleep is still quite an accomplishment.

Mummy made it back home at about 10am whilst Daddy and Amelia were drinking tea and eating toast.

Then Mummy snoozed on the sofa for the afternoon.

It’s a hard life for some!

Xmas comes for the penultimate time this year

So we have another installment of the old "Amelia gets another present" saga. This time it’s a TP Toys swing set as recommended by Mr Hart.

The idea is that you can buy towers and slides and monkey bars and all that kind of crap to add on and make a whole kiddies playground in your back garden. So we know what she’ll be getting for xmas next year.

Amazingly it only took Daddy an hour or so to build it and it pretty much went together first time. As can be seen from the pictures she’s still a little small for even the baby swing, but she enjoys it immensely. Video to follow when I get it sorted out!

Bad ass grandma rapper hat

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

In the countdown to Christmas [ sorry, "Holiday Season" for our American readers ] blog posts we are today featuring Milly-P in her bad ass hat that Grandma Steele knitted for her.

For some bizarre reason Grandma thinks that Daddy doesn’t like this hat – which is why when Mummy and Daddy misplaced it for a while Daddy was panicking as Grandma was sure to accuse him of throwing it away.

I’m a baby, get me out of here

The latest salvo in the "stop Amelia crawling around the room" war has been fired.  Mummy has decided that the best way to make sure that Amelia stays where she is put, is to drop the upturned laundry basket over her.

She doesn’t seem to mind – and it does make a rather nice photo :)

Tomorrow and the day after we have bad-ass gangster rapper Amelia – and Amelia on her xmas present.

It’s getting tiring

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Amelia has now decided that sitting around is sooo Novemberish. These days she absolutely insists on walking everywhere, all the time.

Unfortunately she still can’t walk without Mummy and Daddy holding her up [ unlike her peers ] so Em and I are being run ragged around the house as Amelia explores everything.

Her latest favourite pastime is emtying out any box, bin, coal bucket, cupboard and bookshelf she can get her hands on.

I’ve said it before and I’m pretty sure I’ll say it again…"she’s going to be a nightmare"

Tin foil hat – Amelia style

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Following the recent public health scares highlighted by BBCs Panorama, Amelia has taken her own protective steps. She is ensuring that her delicate brain isn’t adversely affected by WiFi radio death bringing child stupidifying testicle shrinking waves by placing the waste paper bin from Daddy’s office on her head. Pretty as a picture.
