Amelia joins the Curry Club

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

Today Amelia had her first sample of the Wetherspoon’s curry club.  Mummy and Daddy popped in to say hello to Grandad John and the curry was just too tempting.  We had a good curry, poppadoms, naan bread, basmati rice and a beer all for six quid.  Unbelievable.  Amelia spent most of the time eating Mummy’s curry but she also had a few mouthfuls of Daddy’s curry.

If you haven’t joined the Wetherspoon’s curry club then I thoroughly recommend it….when I say “joined” there isn’t some sort of membership fee or an exam about curries, I really just mean “eat one”

Now I’m not saying that my child is some sort of prodigy, but at 18 months counting up to 3 and then shouting blast off – I feel a career in some sort of mission control is beckoning.

Stumpy

Her little legs are still not quite long enough to reach the pedals yet, but when she’s old enough, and her legs are long enough, and assuming there is still petrol in the world, and assuming we don’t all have flying cars and the roads have all been turned into bio-fuel production things, and assuming Charlie doesn’t want it, and assuming it’s not rusted to pieces, then Amelia can probably have this car….unless Daddy manages to spin it and crash it on the roundabout again.

Sleep of the just

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Apparently Emma did it, as did her sister Sarah [ along with her mule ] and now it seems Amelia has become the next of the sleeping face down with her bum in the air brigade.

This picture was taken as Mummy was making her way back from the drunken hen night in York and Daddy was coming to the end of his child-minding shift.  Amelia was her usual well behaved self, but did become a little clingy which necessitated Daddy taking her to the gents toilets at the cricket club when he went for a wee-wee.

Seriously, is there anything that you can’t buy from Amazon these days?

Long lonely walk

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

A quick shot of Amelia embarking on what must be a marathon with her little legs.  I suspect when this picture was taken she was wobbling her way down the garden shouting either “go go go” or “swing”.

She’s also now a dab hand at shouting “ey” after Daddy accidentally shouted it at the chickens when they were eating his grass seeds that he’d put down

American Invasion

Friday, July 11th, 2008

We recently had a visitation from Pat Hall, one of the few Americans we can tolerate for more than 30 seconds.  It was a pleasure to have Pat over and was great to see Amelia doing her bit for Anglo-American relations.

Unfortunately we had to put our fingers in Amelia’s ears when Pat spoke because she used words like “darn”and “dang”; and really had no idea about when to use “bring” and “take”.  All very confusing for my daughters delicate little English ears.

Anyway, the picture above was taken in Southport where we had a jolly day out eating fish and chips and driving around in a little motor boat on the lake.

Oompah Loompah

In preparation for the English Summertime we bought Amelia her very own British bikini.  She’s already put it to good use playing with the new additions to our chicken ranch.  We’ve just bought Buffy and Marigold [ Buff Orpingtons ] along with Blanche and Peggy-Sue [ Wyandotes ].
