Sidekick, in a nappy

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

We had an identity parade recently trying to determine who’d done a pee-pee near the piano.  The culprit was found and as a punishment has been forced to endure the ignominy of wearing a Pampers +4 nappy.

The question is, is it Milly the mild mannered munchkin….could be…chong chicka chong chicka chicka chong chong.

Lunch al fresco

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Before heading off to meet Tim and Lyndsey in Formby we decided to feed Amelia a little lunch outside.

It began with just her chair, then she wanted us to bring out "Jakey’s chair".  After that Amelia decided a table was required and finally the umbrella was demanded.

We had crowds of passing French tourists stopping and ordering a "haw hee haw hee haw"

Equus Asinus Exploitation

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Em, Amelia and I had a jolly day out at Southport where Daddy bought a new suit and some new jeans.  After our shopping trip we headed down to the beach and Amelia embarked on her first ever donkey ride.  She enjoyed it tremendously and for the entire 20 minute walk back to the car she was screaming “donkey ride, donkey ride”.  Inconsolable.  I think we’re going to go back to the beach sooner rather than later to cheer up our little chipmunk.

Here piggy piggy!

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

We recently went up to visit Paul and Jess at their house/farm.  Amelia stroked horses and donkeys, chased chicken and ducks, got freaked out by goats and as you can see from above nearly became a meal for a pot bellied pig.

She thoroughly enjoyed herself but as usual wouldn’t settle down to sleep anywhere but her own bed so we had to come home again.

The barbecue was good and we all had a smashing time.

Now I’m not saying that my child is some sort of prodigy, but at 18 months counting up to 3 and then shouting blast off – I feel a career in some sort of mission control is beckoning.

Stumpy

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Her little legs are still not quite long enough to reach the pedals yet, but when she’s old enough, and her legs are long enough, and assuming there is still petrol in the world, and assuming we don’t all have flying cars and the roads have all been turned into bio-fuel production things, and assuming Charlie doesn’t want it, and assuming it’s not rusted to pieces, then Amelia can probably have this car….unless Daddy manages to spin it and crash it on the roundabout again.

Sleep of the just

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Apparently Emma did it, as did her sister Sarah [ along with her mule ] and now it seems Amelia has become the next of the sleeping face down with her bum in the air brigade.

This picture was taken as Mummy was making her way back from the drunken hen night in York and Daddy was coming to the end of his child-minding shift.  Amelia was her usual well behaved self, but did become a little clingy which necessitated Daddy taking her to the gents toilets at the cricket club when he went for a wee-wee.

Long lonely walk

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

A quick shot of Amelia embarking on what must be a marathon with her little legs.  I suspect when this picture was taken she was wobbling her way down the garden shouting either “go go go” or “swing”.

She’s also now a dab hand at shouting “ey” after Daddy accidentally shouted it at the chickens when they were eating his grass seeds that he’d put down

Old School

We’re taking it back a few decades here to a picture of Grandma Steele with her little baby boy Darren. I know my Mum is a regular reader of the blog and so will no doubt be utterly unhappy to find herself plastered all over the tinter-web flashing next weeks dirty-washing. Honestly, I don’t think the length of that skirt is appropriate for a christening mother!

For those interested the shot was taken outside St Thomas’ Church, Ashton-in-Makerfield.
