We went on the East Lancashire Railway steam day extravaganza. They had a points failure which meant we were sitting on a train that didn’t move for 20 minutes. All in all I found it to be a pretty accurate reproduction of how trains operate today.

He was born about 7 weeks premature and came out of the hospital a couple of days before Amelia and Oliver pounced on him. He doesn’t cry, he just squeaks.

Grandad Paddy was paying for lunch which made the whole thing even more pleasurable. Oliver took a shine to Hannah’s chocolate cake and when she couldn’t finish it, he did.

We really didn’t expect something to rival Manchester’s Xmas Market but they could have at least picked up the dead bird from the bottom of the children’s slide. Still, Amelia and Oliver didn’t see it so it didn’t bother them…
